Heartland Center for Behavioral Change is a 501(3) non-profit charitable organization founded in 1982. The organization has been helping people achieve positive change in their lives for more than thirty years by providing quality treatment for individuals who have a substance use disorder. In FY 2016 Heartland Center delivered hope to more than 4,700 individuals in Missouri.

Heartland Center offers a broad array of outpatient treatment services to individuals on a sliding fee scale, which means that in most cases services are delivered on a low cost or no-cost basis. Heartland Center has a facility serving the Clay, Platte, and Ray county communities, which is conveniently located in Liberty, Missouri. This facility serves adults residing in the Northland community and is accessible to persons with disabilities. Through funding from the Clay, Platte, Ray Mental Health Levy Board residents seeking help receive cost-effective individual and group counseling, as well as group education and community support services in order to begin the journey of recovery.

Heartland Center is a proud partner of the Clay, Platte, Ray Mental Health Levy Board, and in calendar year 2015, Heartland Center served 207 individuals from those counties who would otherwise not be able to afford the care they needed. Heartland Center provides client centered evidence-based practices such as Medication Assisted Treatment and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which improves client outcomes and leads to healthier individuals living in our communities. Heartland Center services also improve public safety by offering substance use disorder treatment services to those individuals with a high degree of criminal justice involvement.
